Mission
Everyone has a unique and fascinating story that deserves to be documented and preserved. The mission of Our Storied Past is to recapture history that may have been lost over time, for the benefit of those who live now and those who are yet to come. To understand ourselves and embrace our family legacy it is important to understand the struggles of those who came before us.
About
I have been conducting genealogical research for over 30 years for friends and family and am now interested in helping others recapture their own family’s history. I have an associate degree in science, a BA in history, and a MA in Public History and a Doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. I have taken numerous independent study courses from the National Genealogical Society and am currently preparing for National Certification of Genealogist process.
Research
Research focus is Georgia Counties and the Southern region of the United States. Clients are asked to provide their most pertinent research questions as a focus of the work. Record sources are used to rebuild lost stories of a family’s past, often uncovering artifacts and photos lost to history that bring the past back to life.
